Johor, March 2018: Upon the completion of a radio studio for IIUM Pagoh, Johor last year, Stagetec Asia was invited to deliver a ‘Radio System and Workflow’ training to a group of lecturers and students for the purpose of managing the radio studio (KLM Conti). The training was necessary for the end users to introduce the basic steps in proper handling and maintenance of the industrial standard radio equipment. The training was held at the Faculty of Languages and Management (KLM), International Islamic University Malaysia, Pagoh from the 25th of February to the 1st March 2018. The designated instructors for the training were Mr. Yap Wei Keong, an expert in radio automation system, Mr. Paul Lim Keng Chun, who is well-experienced in radio editing, and Mr. Yuzwan Yusuf Yusry, who is actively engaged in radio studio productions and the MCR.

The focus of the training was to equip the participants with the basic knowledge of DHD Audio console, Zenon Media Automation System, AVT Telephone hybrid, Sonifex Profanity Delay, ADAM Active Monitor Speakers, Protools editing suite, and Avid Artist Mixer. The essence of the training was to share the technical knowledge and develop an understanding of a range of radio operation functions for the participants to be able to fully operate the radio studio.

The training was based on hands-on learning targeted at participants’ grasp of information so that they could perform most of the technical skills that were taught. “We do understand that our crowds do not have an audio nor technological background, thus we give them the flexibility to fiddle around with the equipment just to get them familiarised with the equipment. And indeed their understanding improved tremendously through hands-on learning”, commented Mr. Yap Wei Keong, Stagetec Asia’s Senior Project Manager.

Dr. Zurahani commented, “We truly enjoyed the learning sessions. The trainers were very helpful in guiding us. In time and with more experience, we hope to be more confident in handling the intricate technology. We are also looking forward to continued collaborations, and an extension of the training with Stagetec Asia, focussing more on radio studio applications for more students and staff in the near future. Thank you Stagetec!”
